Curiosa Meravigliosa
Curiosa Meravigliosa is a public art project that celebrates both the wonders you find in the Palazzo dei Musei in Reggio Emilia and the curiosity and expectations of its various audiences. For this reason it is presented as a choral work based on citizen participation.
Palazzo dei Musei will host a monument of memory, a mural, a large photomosaic that refers to a “now” and a “here”, as if it were an old family photo album or an open-air Facebook page, integrating evocations of the treasures of the museum collection with what draws the attention and interest of the participants: from selfies (self-reflection) to images of what everyone considers worthy of being preserved and passed on. Photographs, to share culture and experience but not only that: photographs also and above all to build a community, to leave a trace – humble, but personal – and weave a swarm of private micro-stories that contribute to shaping collective memory.
All this in order to offer the future a public work, a work for everyone, which is a wonderful and curious act of image aimed at radiating a little light in the dark times of the current pandemic.
The work, installed on the outer wall of the Palazzo dei Musei, will be visible from September.
