Il circuito OFF è la sezione libera e indipendente di Fotografia Europea che nasce dalla spontanea iniziativa delle persone. Dalla prima edizione del 2006, il circuito si è ampliato significativamente, arrivando a coinvolgere tutto il tessuto urbano grazie alla partecipazione dei privati che organizzano, autonomamente, mostre ed eventi nella provincia di Reggio Emilia. OFF si articola in una ricca offerta espositiva, con mostre nei comuni della provincia e nelle gallerie d’arte, esposizioni promosse da associazioni e da circoli fotografici, la sezione off focus, con progetti in evidenza, e l’ampio circuito cittadino.
Da questa edizione, abbiamo scelto di aprire il circuito OFF anche alla rete, dando la possibilità ai fotografi di caricare la propria mostra online, un portfolio di 5 immagini, personale contributo alle riflessioni sul tema dell’edizione.
Ogni fotografo, sia che partecipi con una mostra che con un portfolio online, avrà una pagina dedicata all’interno della sezione OFF del sito di Fotografia Europea. Fra tutti questi, una giuria composta da tre curatori selezionerà i 15 progetti più interessanti sul tema dell’edizione. Gli autori selezionati potranno confrontarsi con i curatori, per costruire assieme a loro il proprio progetto e partecipare ad uno slideshow durante le giornate inaugurali.
- CON UNA MOSTRA
Per aderire al circuito OFF è necessario caricare un progetto entro e non oltre il 12 febbraio 2012. Una maschera di caricamento ti permetterà d’inserire tutte le informazioni riguardanti la tua mostra (da 1 a 5 immagini, luogo d’esposizione, orari di apertura, contatti, titolo e concept). Ti ricordiamo, quindi, che la ricerca della sede e le relative fasi di organizzazione e allestimento della mostra avvengono in modo autonomo. Non c’è limite alle tipologie di luoghi da coinvolgere: bar, hotel, ristoranti, librerie, negozi, supermercati, circoli, ma anche spazi privati appositamente aperti per l’occasione.
- CON UN PORTFOLIO ONLINE
È possibile avere la propria mostra anche solo online caricando un portfolio di 5 immagini e un testo di presentazione sul tema “Vita comune. Immagini per la cittadinanza”. I portfolio online devono essere caricati entro e non oltre il 31 marzo 2012.

OFF circuit is the free and independent section of Fotografia Europea which springs from the spontaneous initiative of individuals. Since the festival was first held in 2006 the circuit has expanded significantly, so that today the whole urban fabric is involved through the participation of private individuals who organize exhibits and events independently in the province of Reggio Emilia. The OFF circuit exhibitions programme is made up of a variety of different initiatives, including displays at the various municipalities of the province and art galleries, exhibits sponsored by associations and photography clubs, the off focus section highlighting different projects, and the extensive circuit organized throughout the city.
As from this year, we have decided to open the OFF circuit to the net as well, offering photographers the opportunity to upload their own exhibits online, giving a personal contribution to the reflection on the topic of the festival with a portfolio of 5 images.
All photographers, whether they are participating with an exhibition or an online portfolio, will have their own dedicated page on the OFF section of the Fotografia Europea website (forthcoming). Out of all these, a jury of three curators will select the 15 most interesting projects on the topic of the festival. The selected authors will be able to discuss their work with the curators in order to design with them their own project, and will participate in a slideshow held during the opening days.
- WITH AN EXHIBIT
To take part in the OFF circuit, the project will have to be uploaded by and no later than 12th February 2012. A dedicated section of the website will soon be set up where an uploading window will allow you to insert all the relevant information about your exhibit (from 1 to 5 images, exhibition venue, opening times, contacts, title and concept). Participants are also reminded that the search for an exhibition venue and the related organization and setting up stages are arranged independently. There is no limit to the type of venue that may be involved in the initiative, including cafés, hotels, restaurants, bookstores, shops, supermarkets, clubs, as well as private spaces opened to the public specially for the occasion.
- WITH AN ONLINE PORTFOLIO
Participants can also opt to hold their exhibits exclusively online by uploading a portfolio of 5 images and a presentation text on the topic “Common life. Images for the community of citizens”. Online portfolios must be uploaded by and no later than 31st March 2012.
