It is a sort of live podcast, a back-to-back, a jam of words and music. A show, featuring the well-known geologist Mario Tozzi, a promoter of science, television presenter and spokesperson for environmental projects, and Populous, né Andrea Mangia: a DJ, producer and sound designer who will skilfully choose sound responses to the debate.
Caterina Barbieri, Italian composer, and Ruben Spini, visual artist and publisher, in an audio/visual live performance site- specific.
In this collaboration, Caterina Barbieri and Ruben Spini explore states of sensory alteration that arise from the relationship between perception, space and time. Barbieri’s sound research on the creative use of computation triggers temporal hallucinations and states of ecstasy that blend well with Ruben Spini’s visual investigation, which explores the spirituality of sacred art, unhinging the language of the documentary to reinterpret the relationship between man and nature in a cybernetic key.
A composer, musician and visual artist, using mainly a synth, Lorenzo Senni expresses his style – which he himself defines as ‘pointillistic trance’: a deconstructed and minimal techno-trance bereft of rhythm.
With the allure of the outsider, he enters Fotografia Europea for a live set that continues his characteristic ‘pointillist’ style, in which reduced and strained sounds are relentlessly arranged as drumless rhythms and melodies, presented for the occasion in multiple song-based structures
Cecilia Valagussa, illustrator and Marta Del Grandi, musician, in a performance inspired by nature and the animal world.
Their live performances consist of Cecilia’s analogue animation on the overhead projector, on which she moves the characters drawn on coloured film cuttings and other materials such as sand, water and small objects. Marta writes songs and instrumental pieces in which the voice is combined with synths, guitars, beats and field recordings of the places where the shows are produced
In the event of bad weather, the performances in Piazza San Prospero and the Chiostri di San Pietro will be moved to the Teatro Cavallerizza.
Until 30 April:
