HOST NOOR

Host is the section of the festival that includes a partnership with the main actors of international contemporary photography.

Host offers an exclusive opportunity to encounter and discover an internationally renowned agency through a calendar of activities and events in which participants can personally come into contact with some of the leading figures in contemporary photography.

Host is a project promoted by Fotografia Europea in collaboration with aBcM.

This year the guest agency is NOOR.

Noor workshop

The work of a photographer, from the preparation of a story, to research into the situations needed to tell it, the shoot and final editing.

Four photographers from NOOR agency will work with four groups of students in a three-day workshop, divided into three activities: theoretical introduction, photographic production, and editing.

Each NOOR photographer will lead a group of max six students through a daily programme of shooting, reviews, group critiques, mentoring and editing.

The photographs taken by the students of the workshops will be shown on Saturday 16th May during the NOOR Night and published on NOOR blog.

Rethinking the photo project – new possibilities and concepts

A workshop with the photographer Asim Rafiqui about how to create and project a series.
The one day workshop is open to 6 participants.

NOOR LUNCH | Lunch d’auteur and portfolio review

Five   photographers from NOOR AGENCY will have lunch each with a group of 6-14 students, during it an informal chat on a specific theme suggested by the photographer will develope.
The lunch will take place at Ristorante Enoteca Il Pozzo. Lunch will be followed by a shared portfolio review.

• Alixandra Fazzina e Benedicte Kurzen: Women; Two Sides of the Camera. The two photographers will seek to discuss the role of women both behind the camera and as subjects in conflict.

EXHIBITION

A NOOR journal on the changing planet, 2009 – 2015 is a long period project achieved by the photographers of NOOR agency about climactical changes . It has two sections: Consequences points out the terrible effects of climatic change, while Solutions identifies and tells about men who are trying to act against it.

The exhibition at Fotografia Europea Festival 2015, will show a selection of these pictures comprehending some never published before. Laura Serani will be the curator of the exhibition this year.

NOOR NIGHT | screening and debate

NOOR Agency and it’s photographers.
Lars Boering, Director of the World Press Photo, will moderate the event which will see 12 photographers NOOR protagonists of an evening of screenings and discussions.
The topic of discussion will be: Change: How to Achieve It.
Screenings of the works produced during the NOOR workshops.
