Durante le giornate inaugurali del festival curatrici e curatori, photo editor, esperte ed esperti del settore hanno visionato il portfolio di fotografe e fotografi, giovani o professionisti, per dispensare consigli e suggerimenti.
Tra tutti le e i partecipanti la giuria, composta dalle lettrici e dai i lettori presenti, ha selezionato il progetto di Eleonora Calvelli, Making love to G is gonna be like the first time I tried a cheeseburger che si aggiudica la pubblicazione su Il Fotografo.

From among all the participants, the jury—comprising the readers in attendance—selected Eleonora Calvelli’s project, Making love to G is gonna be like the first time I tried a cheeseburger, which has won a feature in Il Fotografo.

Making love to G is gonna be like the first time I tried a cheeseburger è un progetto a lungo termine, iniziato nel 2012, volto ad analizzare la relazione tra il genere dei reality show con l’intimità, il voyeurismo, la violenza e il linguaggio connesso al mondo della pubblicità e della Tv; essi offrono un punto di osservazione privilegiato per analizzare lo sviluppo dell’industria culturale.
Infine, lo stretto legame tra reality-show e strategie commerciali evidenzia quanto il mercato possa colonizzare la comunicazione di massa.

Eleonora Calvelli è una fotografa italiana che si dedica a progetti indipendenti di lungo respiro incentrati su tematiche sociali e culturali.
Ha iniziato la sua ricerca fotografica nel 2008 con un progetto a lungo termine sulle coppie omogenitoriali italiane con figli nati grazie alle tecniche di “Procreazione Medicalmente Assistita” che ha ricevuto il Patrocinio di Amnesty International Sezione Italiana ed è stato pubblicato nel 2013 con il titolo “In Bloom” (Postcart, Roma).
Nel 2023, con il titolo “Making Love To G Is Gonna Be Like The First Time I Tried A Cheeseburger”, ha autopubblicato una monografia sul tema dei reality show, che ha riunito due progetti sviluppati tra il 2012 e il 2021. Nel 2023, il progetto ha vinto agli International Photography Awards, nella categoria professionale, il “1° posto, Libro, Auto-pubblicato”.
Nel 2024, il libro ha vinto il Premio Marco Bastianelli e il Premio Editoriale Mariæ Nivis 1567. Nel 2025, il progetto è stato selezionato per l’“Off-The-Wall Award” ed esposto in una mostra collettiva curata da Erik Kessels alla Mia Photo Fair di Milano.

Making love to G is gonna be like the first time I tried a cheeseburger is a long-term project, commenced in 2012, which aims to analyze the relationship between the reality TV show genre and intimacy, voyeurism, violence, and all the languages and techniques associated with the world of advertising.
Reality-show television offers a vantage point for observing the development of the culture industry. Furthermore, the close connection between reality TV and commercial strategies highlights how the market can colonize mass communication.

Eleonora Calvelli is an Italian photographer who works on long-term independent projects focusing on social and cultural issues.
She began her photographic research in 2008 with a long-term project on Italian homoparental couples with children born thanks to “Medically Assisted Procreation” techniques in Europe, Canada, and the United States. The project received the Patronage of Amnesty International Italian Section and was published in 2013 as “In Bloom” (Postcart, Rome).
In 2023, with the title “Making Love To G Is Gonna Be Like The First Time I Tried A Cheeseburger,” she self-published a monograph on the theme of reality shows, which brought together two projects developed between 2012 and 2021. In 2023, the project won at the International Photography Awards, professional category, “1st Place, Book, Self Published”.
In 2024, the book won the Marco Bastianelli Award and the Mariæ Nivis 1567 Editorial Award. In 2025, the project was selected for the “Off-The-Wall Award” and exhibited in a group show curated by Erik Kessels at the Mia Photo Fair in Milan.
