Il progetto editoriale combina riflessioni concettuali sulla memoria, la distruzione e l’invisibilità della storia. Il libro riprende questo linguaggio visivo e crea un frammento di ricordi, errori di immagine e lacune. Diventa uno spazio di testimonianza e riflessione in cui gli spettatori devono decifrare gli strati di immagini e il loro significato.
Hameed ha setacciato l’intera mappa dell’Iraq su Google Maps e ha creato un archivio di centinaia di screenshot. In Iraq, le viste a 360 gradi non vengono caricate dalla piattaforma stessa, ma da privati. Hameed è particolarmente interessato agli errori e alle lacune che incontra durante la sua ricerca.

Raisan Hameed (*1991) è un artista multimediale iracheno-tedesco che vive a Lipsia. Ha completato il suo Meisterschüler con la Prof.ssa Tina Bara alla HGB dopo aver conseguito il diploma in fotografia. Il suo lavoro è stato esposto in mostre internazionali, tra cui il Prix Photoforum Biel, la Bundeskunsthalle Bonn e la Carte Blanche Exhibition a Parigi. La pratica di Hameed utilizza un linguaggio visivo sottile e metaforico, plasmato da esperienze di perdita e sfollamento.

Presenteremo il libro durante le giornate inaugurali di Fotografia Europea, vi aspettiamo a Reggio Emilia dal 30 aprile al 3 maggio!

The book project combines conceptual reflections on memory, destruction and the invisibility of history. The book takes up this visual language and creates a fragment of memories, image errors and gaps. It becomes a space of testimony and reflection in which viewers must decipher the layers of images and their meaning. Hameed has scoured the entire map of Iraq on Google Maps and compiled an archive of hundreds of screen shots. In Iraq, the 360-degree views are not uploaded to the platform by the company itself, but by private individuals. Hameed is particularly interested in the errors and gaps he comes across during his research.

Raisan Hameed (*1991) is an Iraqi-German multimedia artist based in Leipzig. He completed his Meisterschüler with Prof. Tina Bara at the HGB after finishing his Diploma in Photography. His work has appeared in international exhibitions, including Prix Photoforum Biel, Bundeskunsthalle Bonn and the Carte Blanche Exhibition in Paris. Hameed’s practice uses a subtle, metaphorical visual language shaped by experiences of loss and displacement.
