the Unseen - is a documentary streetphotography project (which was created in Ukraine, Poland and Greece in 2019-2025) that explores the fate of people who remain unnoticed in public space. In an era of loud demonstrations, social campaigns and media hype, this series asks the question: who is left out?

Through a combination of street photography and sensitive social observation, "the Unseen" shows how people on the margins of society coexist alongside mass celebrations, protests or the everyday flows of the city.
Their existence is a silent commentary on our priorities, on how selectively we see and support each other.

RomanButym -ukrainian photographer based in Kraków, Poland.
Specialize in reportage and fine art photography.
Started shooting at the age of 16, when first time picked up a Skina 35 mm lens camera in 2001.
Alongside commercial work, engage in creative projects, experimenting with various forms of visual storytelling.
In 2021, together with Pavlo Kyryk (ukrainian writer), co-created the artistic photo project “ValidityPeriod”, which explores issues of over production and the disposable society.
Currently, working on a long-term project “Movement”, a visual reectionon the fast-paced modern lifestyle and the concept of being "intheøow".

His works have been featured on the World Press Photo Instagram account, as well as in Kwartalnik Fotograöa, The Eye of Photography magazines, and on platforms such as PhotoVogue Italia, Culture.pl, and others. In 2024, photo project Validity Period was exhibited at DOMGallery in Riga, Latvia. In 2025, it was featured at the Auckland Festival of Photography in New Zealand, International Image Festival Getxophoto in Spain, and was also selected as a semifinalist for Futurespective by Photo Vogue Ukraine.
