Fotografia Europea since 20o6<\/strong><\/h2>\n<\/div>

Fotografia Europea<\/strong> is an international cultural festival dedicated to contemporary photography.
\nThe festival, created in 2006, is promoted by the Fondazione Palazzo Magnani and the Municipality of Reggio Emilia and it won Photo Festival of the Year at the Lucie Awards 2022 in New York.
\nFotografia Europea uses photography as a tool to reflect upon the complexity of the contemporary living following the lesson of the local photographer Luigi Ghirri, a prominent figure in the late \u2018900s photography\u2019s renewal, whose archive is stored in the city.<\/p>\n

The festival takes place in different locations of the city, both public and private, formal and informal, and it consists of a central core of exhibitions among which new ad hoc commissioned productions, related to a specific theme identified every year by the Scientific Committee.
\nThe exhibitions are accompanied by a rich program of events, conferences, screenings, workshops, portfolio reviews and site specific performances.<\/p>\n

Also enriching the program is the OFF circuit<\/strong>: an offer of exhibitions and events scattered throughout the territory and promoted independently by galleries, associations, public institutions and private entities.
\nFotografia Europea is also a permanent project: since its first edition it has acquired more than 1,000 works, which can be consulted online and are preserved at the Panizzi Library Photo Library.<\/a><\/p>\n

In 2022, the festival won Best Photo Festival of the Year<\/strong> at the Lucie Awards<\/a> in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
