fusion-text-2\"><p>Un progetto di\u00a0<strong>Sabine Vollmann-Schipper<\/strong>\u00a0e\u00a0<strong>Laura Gasparini<\/strong>\u00a0da un\u2019idea di<strong>\u00a0Thomas Demand<\/strong>\u00a0e\u00a0<strong>Martin Boyce<\/strong>\u00a0per la Collezione d\u2019arte contemporanea<strong>\u00a0Girefin<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Il progetto della mostra consiste nella\u00a0<strong>conversazione tra le opere di Thomas Demand e Martin Boyce<\/strong>. Gli artisti lavorano da qualche tempo con la fotografia, ma ne fanno un utilizzo molto personale.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Thomas Demand<\/strong>\u00a0realizza\u00a0<strong>modelli tridimensionali in carta o cartone<\/strong>\u00a0che riproducono, a grandezza naturale, frammenti di realt\u00e0 che, in seguito, registra fotograficamente per poi distruggere le sculture. Spesso i soggetti si riferiscono a luoghi in cui si sono verificati eventi di rilevanza storica e sociale e, in seguito, sono entrati nella memoria collettiva. In questa mostra, in particolare, le opere<em>\u00a0Heldenorgel\u00a0<\/em>(2009), raffigurante il memoriale delle vittime della Prima Guerra Mondiale in Austria che consiste in un organo situato all\u2019aperto, permettendo quindi a tutti di ascoltarlo, e\u00a0<em>Klause<\/em>\u00a0(2006), che raffigura un sito in cui la stampa lo aveva indicato come luogo di un crimine che in realt\u00e0 non \u00e8 accaduto, sono opere espressive per illustrare il suo approccio con la fotografia. Per Demand la fotografia predomina la nostra percezione della realt\u00e0: \u201c<strong>Le cose entrano nel mondo attraverso la fotografia<\/strong>\u201c, afferma, \u201c<strong>e questo influisce notevolmente le modalit\u00e0 di comunicazione, di analisi e quindi di comprensione di ci\u00f2 che ci circonda<\/strong>\u201c.<\/p>\n<p>Le sculture, le fotografie e le installazioni di\u00a0<strong>Martin Boyce<\/strong>\u00a0indagano poeticamente le intersezioni tra arte, architettura, natura e design. Boyce si ispira alle forme del banale quotidiano come, ad esempio,<strong>\u00a0l\u2019architettura anonima e gli oggetti ordinari.<\/strong>\u00a0Boyce estrae gli elementi di design, per ricombinarli, distorcerli e renderli astratti per la realizzazione delle sue opere. L\u2019intervento creativo di Boyce si rivolge anche ai\u00a0<strong>paesaggi post-urbani<\/strong>\u00a0nel tentativo di ricalibrare la nostra comprensione di quei luoghi. La serie di immagini della mostra,<em>\u00a0Spook School<\/em>\u00a0(2016), ad esempio, ci propone i resti di un edificio incendiato, la famosa Glasgow School of Art, di Charles Rennie Mackintosh. Questo edificio \u00e8 l\u2019Accademia di Belle Arti che lo stesso Boyce ha frequentato. Boyce, collega quella esperienza, in modo toccante, con quella a Palazzo da Mosto, anch\u2019esso \u00e8 stato un laboratorio pedagogico e una scuola fino ai giorni nostri, un\u2019istituzione ricca di storia.<\/p>\n<p>Gli autori desiderano innescare un intenso\u00a0<strong>dialogo visivo tra le loro opere<\/strong>, offrendo un\u2019esperienza avvincente, ma allo stesso tempo complessa, concatenando riferimenti, associazioni e narrazioni. Vive e lavora tra Berlino e Los Angeles.<br \/>\nThomas Demand \u00e8 noto per la realizzazione di opere fotografiche di grandi dimensioni. Esse ripropongono immagini dai mass media o dal suo archivio personale. La sua ricerca desidera ribaltare la nozione di fotografia come linguaggio oggettivo, veritiero, esplorando il divario tra la realt\u00e0 e la sua rappresentazione. Infatti Demand ricostruisce, a grandezza naturale, la realt\u00e0 che decide di rappresentare, con carta e cartone, e, dopo averla fotografata, distrugge il modello in carta.<\/p>\n<p>Cresciuto a Monaco di Baviera, Thomas Demand frequenta l\u2018Academy of Fine Arts di Monaco e la Du\u0308sseldorf Art Academy, prima di conseguire nel 1994 un Master in Belle Arti al Goldsmiths\u2019 College di Londra. Inizialmente la fotografia veniva utilizzata per documentare le sue ricostruzioni, ma dal 1990 la fotografia diventa l\u2019opera d\u2019arte finale.<br \/>\nMolte delle sue opere sono incentrate sugli spazi, in particolare di interni, per una loro maggiore comprensione architettonica; il suo interesse per l\u2019architettura e i modelli l\u2019hanno portato a diverse collaborazioni con architetti come Caruso St. John, David Chipperfield, Rem Koolhaas e SANAA.<br \/>\nIl suo lavoro \u00e8 presente in numerosi musei e collezioni tra cui il Museum of Modern Art, New York, The Guggenheim Museum, New York, Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), Los Angeles, il Centre Pompidou, Parigi e la Tate Modern, Londra.<\/p>\n<h3>MARTIN BOYCE<\/h3>\n<p>Martin Boyce (Hamilton, Scozia, 1967). Come omaggio alle scuole di design, Boyce decostruisce e reimmagina, per esempio assemblando opere di Charles e Ray Eames del 1949 o creando mobili con frammenti della sedia di Arne Jacobsen del 1955.<br \/>\nL\u2019opera di Martin Boyce include forme tratte sia da fonti moderniste che dal design classico, ma anche riferimenti a oggetti di arredo urbano, come recinzioni, bidoni della spazzatura o cabine telefoniche. Trasformati dalla sua visione, questi elementi della storia del design, ricordando pi\u00f9 o meno la loro funzione utilitaristica originaria, creano paesaggi incantati che appaiono come testimoni un po\u2019 laconici dei programmi di sviluppo urbano del passato, ma anche arricchiscono il vocabolario dell\u2019urbanistica contemporanea con momenti di inaspettata tenerezza e bellezza.<br \/>\nLe opere di Boyce sono state esposte in diverse mostre personali istituzionali e collettive e il suo lavoro \u00e8 presente in numerosi collezioni tra cui il Museum of Modern Art, New York; Tate Modern,
