Bubble<\/h2>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-2\"><p>Le\u00a0<strong>criptovalute<\/strong>\u00a0sono un \u201catto di fede\u201d, privo di prove tangibili della loro presenza fisica. I Bitcoin in circolazione sono poco pi\u00f9 di 19,4 milioni (2024). Dei 21 milioni di token Bitcoin, il 92,44% \u00e8 gi\u00e0 in circolazione.<br \/>\nSpesso etichettato come \u201cbolla speculativa\u201d, il Bitcoin \u00e8\u00a0<strong>un bene digitale ad alto rischio<\/strong>\u00a0che pu\u00f2 circolare senza l\u2019autorit\u00e0 centralizzata di una banca o di un governo. Continua a subire una costante mancanza di sostegno da parte del dibattito economico mainstream.<br \/>\nIl 2017 \u00e8 stato un anno spartiacque per le \u201cvalute virtuali\u201d: il\u00a0<strong>Giappone<\/strong>\u00a0\u00e8 stato il primo Paese a sostenere il Bitcoin, consentendogli di diventare una forma di pagamento legale. Nonostante i dubbi dell\u2019Occidente, a Tokyo un gruppo di sostenitori simile a una setta \u00e8 stato l\u2019avanguardia che ha creato un elemento sia sociale che estetico per il Bitcoin, colmando il perdurante vuoto di esperienza umana, contribuendo al suo comportamento erratico sul mercato. Al termine di questo progetto nel 2017, il Bitcoin valeva circa 900 dollari; l\u2019anno successivo era salito a oltre 13.000 dollari. Al suo apice, nel novembre 2021, un Bitcoin valeva oltre 60.000 dollari.<\/p>\n<p>Sebbene un tempo fosse possibile per individui impegnati e capaci,\u00a0<strong>il processo di estrazione di Bitcoin \u00e8 diventato sempre pi\u00f9 complesso e dispendioso in termini di energia<\/strong>\u00a0man mano che la sua vita sul mercato proseguiva. Ne \u00e8 risultata una crescente influenza delle imprese e dei poteri aziendali dedicati, le cui risorse collettive hanno permesso di espandere il processo di produzione, spesso trasferendosi in\u00a0<em>mining farm<\/em>\u00a0create\u00a0<em>ad hoc<\/em>. I suoi progetti utilizzano tecniche documentaristiche tradizionali, come fotografia, audio, video e testi, cos\u00ec come tecniche visive pi\u00f9 contemporanee e strumenti informatici. Barnard unisce il suo interesse per l\u2019estetica e gli attuali dibattiti sulla materialit\u00e0 della fotografia con il clima politico, nell\u2019ambito di progetti critici incentrati sulle nuove ecologie, le nuove tecnologie, la scienza e il comparto militare-industriale.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBarnard si definisce un\u2019artista fotografica, ma il suo lavoro appare inequivocabilmente politico. Rende omaggio ai tropi del realismo documentario, sabotandoli allo stesso tempo\u201d. Oltre a esporre regolarmente i suoi progetti, Barnard ha pubblicato tre monografie, di cui due con GOST (Chateau Despair, sostenuta dall\u2019Arts Council; Hyenas of the Battlefield e Machines in the
