curated by Silvia Vercelli and Andrea Simi
The exhibition presents a selection of pictures and documents from the archive “Tina Zuccoli”, kept by Fondazione Fotografia Modena. The exhibition proposes a contemporary revision made through new photographs by Andrea Simi and video testimonials of people related to the author.
The archive has been chosen for the richness of the materials and the peculiarity of the author: the elementary school teacher Tina Zuccoli (1928 – 2006), alongside her role as a teacher, made explorations and photographs between the Fifties and the Seventies. She made numerous trips in the Arctic and in the United States, particularly in the space base of Cape Canaveral.
The photographic project by Andrea Simi communicates with the archive, looking for connections and material traces in the present, without prior planning, yet with a cognitive intention founded on the meeting and direct experience; the same attitude is also found in the video interviews that accompany the visitor in the path of sharing memory.
